History of Liberty Hill, Texas

Liberty Hill, TX was founded in the mid-1800s, and named for the prominent hill near the town center. The community grew rapidly in the late 1800s, with the establishment of numerous businesses, including a cotton gin and a gristmill. In the early 20th century, Liberty Hill became a center for education, with the establishment of several schools and colleges in the area. Today, Liberty Hill is a rapidly growing city, known for its excellent schools, thriving business community, and natural beauty, including the nearby Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge.
