Seguin, Texas, United States

History of Seguin, Texas

Seguin, TX was founded in 1838 by a group of Texas Rangers, who named the town after Juan Seguín, a Tejano hero of the Texas Revolution. The town grew rapidly in the mid-1800s, with the arrival of the railroad and the establishment of numerous industries, including agriculture, milling, and manufacturing. Seguin played a key role in the Civil War and later became a hub for education and culture in the region. Today, Seguin is a thriving city with a rich history and a diverse community, known for its charming downtown district, historic homes, and natural beauty along the Guadalupe River.
